Kate

It was a perfect day and setting for a little session with a little princess.  After having to reschedule due to the cold weather I was so glad that I was finally able to have a photo session with Kate.  Her mother knows I have been wanting to take her picture for a while now and you can clearly see why.  :)

Though a bit shy at first she quickly warmed up to me and her newly 5 year old smile lit up my lens…her mother brought bags of goodies at my request so that we would have plenty of things to set the scene.  I always bring props as well and found some old books of mine that my mother used to read to me so a white dress with pearls, a little book about Bambi :) and an old suitcase set the scene for Kate’s sweet side.  Then for Kate’s super fun side we pulled out the colorful petticoat and went dancing on the railroad tracks.

It was super fun!!!  Thank you Kate you did such an AWESOME job and I hope that we can do it again!!!  :)

Lydia's First Birthday

It was a very special day.  Our family came to our place for Lydia’s very first B-day, something I have been daydreaming about I think my whole life..Ha yes its true.  I had a total blast planning her party from making the cupcakes (which b.t.w. I TOTALLY bombed on…they did taste ok ( I think) but looked ..well not so good ;/ to wrapping her gifts.

While I was stuffing a bag with paper I thought to myself my goodness I am BAAAANANAS about this girl…just CRAZY over her!  I want to LAVISH her with gifts; I want her to always be happy, to life her life in abundance and to have all her heart’s desire.

As I was stacking the gifts that were brought in for her I thought to myself can you even imagine how God feels about her?  About us?  I had a total epiphany!  It was like a rush of realization came over me that no matter how I feel or what I don’t understand about life He is CRRRRAZY about me!  About you!  He want THE BEST, He wants to LLLLlavish You with gifts!!  Me with gifts…that is so comforting!  And although I hesitated a little to get all spiritual on my business blog I thought to myself why not?  I mean without the Lord where, who would I be.??...oh man I don't even want to think about that.  So I leave you with this scripture and one last picture…  .')

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Jeremiah 29:11

"The Church Lady"

They call her "The Church Lady" why?  She is a realtor who happens to sell churches, how appropriate!  :)  Kathy Jennings gave me a call a few weeks ago to ask if I would be able to come down and capture the detail of this amazing church she is selling as well as a few portraits for her new business card.  I walked in and I gotta say I was in awe. The stainglass window a portrait of Christ, the old wooden pews where worshipers have gathered in time past ; there was an enormous sense of reverence there.

Thank you Kathy, I really enjoyed a walk through this church for sale ! :)

A Night to Remember

Last week I had the privilege of capturing  a small intimate wedding and have been very excited to share with you some of the images from the night.

The event was held at Bucks Restaurant in old Louisville. I arrived a bit early to get a feel for the place and started to get excited when I walked in the front door.  The place was full of charm, from the beautiful fresh cut flowers and soft music in the background to the old time elevators, and door frames in the hallway.  The ceremony was short but very sweet as thier 3 little girls graced  her way with fresh pink rose petals and the bride’s son walking her down the aisle to give her away...now a blended family they began thier journey together.

Thank you guys so much for choosing me to capture your special night, it will truly be one you will always remember!
